We left behind an incredible year regarding hairstyles and fashion. 2019 with no doubt was a year of bleaching. Colorful hair was everywhere. Women started to get shorter hair and we saw a lot celebrities rock the buzz cut and pixie cut. Genderless hair movement started. Men celebrities dyed their hair in colorful shades. In 2020, we see this movement to continue and grow even bigger. Also, we see a revival of 70s and 60 hair. Here are the 6 Hairstyles that will be trendy in 2020! Without further ado, let’s start our list!
Miley Cyrus Mullet Hair
Mullet haircut is returning, that is for sure. We have seen its signs in celebrities’ choices and in social media. Mullet is a haircut that leaves the back long and the front short. This eccentric hair style had been here for a long time and according to Dazed writers we can even see it on Ancient Roman sculptures. This style revived in the 70s with David Bowie and its effect continued in the 80s with Joan Jett. At the end of the 2019, Miley Cyrus got a Mullet Haircut and now it’s Stranger Things’ star Finn Wolfhard too. Needless to say, it’s obvious that we will see this eccentric hairstyle more and more… This is the first hairstyle. Let’s continue with the other hairstyles will be trendy!
2- Two Tone Hair Color
Dua Lipa – Two Tone Hair, Rose Gold and Brown
Two tone hair is the best thing I have seen at the end of 2019. Two tone hair can come in many shapes. What is two tone hair, it’s coloring hair in two matching shades. Cruella’s hair is the most famous example of this hair style. Two-tone hair coloring is for specific individuals. For example, Dua Lipa tried many different hair styles however, two tone hair suited her the best. You can also try this style with asymmetrical cuts and bobs like she did.
3- The Shag
The Shag has been really popular around 60s – 70s with Mick Jagger. This hair cut is based around layering around the crown of the head and involves fringes. Shag suitable for people that likes having full and messy hair. Like its name The Shag will give you a messy look. However, this is intended. The Shag was popular around rock stars and today it’s having a revival like mullet cut. We have seen its revival in the Netflix show Russian Doll, the star of the show Natasha Lyonne, who is rocking this hair style.

4- Boho Bangs
Boho bangs is a long and layered fringe. It’s associated with the hippie movements and flower child’s hence the bohemian/boho name comes with it. Boho hair should be textured, airy and a little bit messy like the Shag. However, boho bangs give a sweeter and more feminine aura to the ones that have it. Kasey Musgrove’s new style has boho bangs and she carried it with grace. Almost done! Let’s continue with the other hairstyles will be trendy!

5- Colorful Roots
Coloring roots are one of the major trends that emerged in 2019, August. Halsey and especially Billie Eilish started this and I see that it’s going to be huge in 2020, too. When you are coloring your roots, you may want to choose colors that would contrast. For example, if you have brown hair you may contrast it with a neon color in your roots.

6- Natural Shades
We can all agree that in 2019 everyone was bleaching their hair to either platinum or other blonde shades. Even in the Met Gala, brunette artists were blonde wigs. However, it’s time to turn back to the basics. It’s for sure this year is the time of the browns and natural blonde shades.
Hair and fashion trends are always led by either celebrity of the high fashion designers like Balenciaga, or Chanel. This list only a mere guessing of what could be in 2020. I personally find mullet and shaggy haircuts highly fashionable. They’re both genderless, adequate to all genders and also, vintage because they have their roots in 70s. I also, hope we are not going to see any more platinum blonde because that is so 2019 !
